With the release of his first full-length solo album, '23:24', SYA begins a new artistic chapter both within and beyond BLITZERS. Following his previous release 'Bloom', the artist now presents a much more personal project, in which he took part in writing and composing all the songs and explores new facets of his musical identity.
SYA talked us about this solo release, his creative process, the support of his fellow BLITZERS members, and the message he wishes to share with those who are accompanying him on this new journey. Don't miss it!

This is your first solo full album, '23:24'. What do you think you’ve learned about yourself as an artist through this experience?
I think it was an album where I can become more than an artist and become more honest with myself.
How did you approach this release compared to ‘Bloom’, your previous work?
If 'Bloom' was like a fan song dedicated to the fans, for this album I tried to include my autobiographical story. I approached it with the idea of showing the path of the artist SYA and the human being Lee Junyoung.
All eight songs on the album were written and composed by you. What was the most important thing you wanted to express through this project?
First of all, since I wrote and composed all the songs, there isn’t one song that I worked on more than the others. Through this project, I wanted to focus on how I felt when I was 23 and 24.
What is your songwriting process like? Where do you usually find inspiration when you write music?
Since the album contains my autobiographical story, it was easy to compose and write the lyrics. I listened a lot to Post Malone’s album and used it as a reference.
Is there a song on '23:24' that feels especially personal to you? If so, why?
Personally, I think the song 'LANDFILL' captures my emotions the best, so I feel very connected to it.
What kind of listeners do you think will connect the most with '23:24'?
I think it will be touching the most to listeners who have a dream and are moving towards that dream.
How did the members of BLITZERS react when they listened to your album for the first time?
I haven’t played the album for the members yet, so I don’t know how they will react, but in the song '235803', which features Woojoo, he said he liked the lyrics, especially the line “Flower in the Trash.”
Finally, would you like to share a message with your fans in Latin America and Spain?
Thank you for always supporting us, and I hope you love this album '23:24' a lot. Thank you!
